Reminder: There will be no karate classes this Tuesday, October 31st, due to Halloween. Also, students are welcome to wear their Halloween costumes to class this week. Keep in mind that we will be training. Costumes should be modified for appropriateness and safety, if needed. We look forward to seeing everyone’s costumes this week!
New Belt Ranks!
A few weeks ago, students tested for their next rank. Faulkingham Sensei struggled with remembering to get everyone’s picture. She will update this post with the remaining two students, Jack and Alex, when she gets them. We are so proud of all the students who worked hard to earn their next belt rank!
Annual Karate Family Picnic!
Yesterday, August 27th, we had our Annual Karate Family Picnic. We were so happy to see everyone having fun. The weather turned out to be perfect! It was a cool 81°F, compared to the 102°F temperatures we were experiencing during the week. Also, a special shout out of thanks to Bebe’s Bake Shoppe in Florissant for the delicious custom cookies; they were a big hit!
Dojo Closed for Labor Day
The dojo will be closed on Monday, September 4th, in observance of Labor Day. Enjoy your long weekend!
One Year Anniversary in our New Retail Space!
On August 15th, Gateway Shidokan Karate, LLC celebrates our one-year anniversary in our new location! We love having mat floors, mirrors, makiwaras, a heavy bag, a private bathroom, and video conference abilities for long distance training with Iha Sensei and Roberto Sensei. Also, Faulkingham Sensei is thrilled that she no longer needs to carry all items into the building for classes. It is wonderful having everything we need on site!
