Annual Karate Picnic
Yesterday, Saturday, August 24th, we had our Annual Karate Picnic. We had a wonderful time socializing. We were so pleased so many could make it, and we missed those who could not. Hopefully, next year’s schedule will work better. We loved seeing everyone having fun and strengthening friendships.

Official 10-Year Anniversary!
Faulkingham Sensei had the great honor of receiving an award for Gateway Shidokan Karate, LLC’s official 10-year anniversary. The following is the introduction that accompanied the award presentation.
“Sensei Stephanie Faulkingham officially opened Gateway Shidokan Karate in 2014. In 2016 they had their first student earn a black belt. Since then, they have had the pleasure of seeing four students earn various degrees of black belt, the current highest ranked student holds a 3rd degree black belt. Gateway Shidokan Karate was housed in the Maryland Heights Community Center for years. In August 2022 Sensei Faulkingham moved the dojo to a retail space in Maryland Heights. With this move they were able to customize the space for their training needs and offer more classes. Additionally, two high ranked students have taken on official instructor roles in the dojo, with each of them teaching one night a week. Sensei Faulkingham expresses that it has been an honor and privilege to provide quality training within the diverse community for so many years and looks forward to many more.”
